    Beverly Louise Mason, died peacefully on December 26, 2012, at her home in Portland, Maine, at the age of 85.
    Beverly was born February 16, 1927 in Whitefield, New Hampshire to Frank Bishop Mason and Maymie Lathe Mason. She lived in Portland and Westbrook for 60 years, coming from Lancaster, New Hampshire.
    Beverly spent the majority of her career as an executive secretary at the paper mill in Westbrook which was then the S.D. Warren Company. She was the author of five novels. The first, “Hunter’s Hill”, was published in 1973, followed by “Widow’s Walk” and “Killraven”, both published in 1975, “Land’s End” published in 1976 and her final novel, “The Chill Winds of Ravenhall” was published in 1981. All five novels were written under Beverly’s pen name, “Mary Bishop”.
    Beverly graduated from White Mountains Regional High School, where she was her graduating class valedictorian.
