DURHAM - Bob Knight, 69, found peace on March 28, 2013 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer.
Above all, Bob adored his family. He was a loving husband, a strong and adventurous Dad, and a fun-filled Bumpa.  Bob's contagious smile, humor, and laughter often turned ordinary moments into treasured memories for everyone he knew.
Bob's passion involved anything with an engine. He loved restoring vintage motorcycles and British sports cars and was an avid outdoorsman. Bob shared the fun of shooting his firearms, including his favorite "Billy the Kid" six-shooter, with friends and family. Bob tried anything and everything.  After retiring, he learned the banjo, tap dancing, silver smithing, and bike wrenching.  People recognized him by his colorful Hawaiian shirts and unique hats. Bob & Nancy traveled throughout the U.S. and Mexico and abroad to Europe and Egypt.
Bob was born in Natick, MA on Sept. 7, 1943, the son of the late C. William and Dorothy Knight.
He graduated from Framingham High School in 1961 and held strategy and operations certificates from the Tuck School of Business. Bob and Nancy met in the summer of 1961 and married in 1963. Bob served in the National Guard, worked at Fenwal, Inc. through 1968, Lebanon High School through 1972, Tambrands, Inc. through 1995, and was also a self-employed contractor for several years. Throughout his life, Bob served his communities as a volunteer in many capacities.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy D. Knight; sons, Robert and his wife Tami, Steve and his wife Lynn, daughter Stacey and her husband Jim Sawyer; six grandchildren: Amanda, Eric and Mitchell Sawyer, Christopher, Brittany, and Cassidy Knight; brothers, James and his wife, Patricia, and William and his wife, Le Edna.
The family wishes to thank all of their friends and family as well as the CHANS Hospice of Brunswick for their support and prayers.
