PORTLAND - Delina N. McCarthy, 94, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Seaside Nursing Facility following a long illness.
She was born in Pownal, Maine on December 26, 1918 the daughter of Phillip and Louisa Liberty.
Delina was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. When not caring for her family she enjoyed cooking, watching her soap operas and taking long walks and visiting with people along the way. She had a great love for animals and was always up for a ride in the car.
Delina was predeceased by her husband John H. McCarthy in 1995, along with seven sisters and four brothers. She is survived by a son James McCarthy of Portland; a daughter Gloria Mayotte of Indianna; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
At the families request all services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Coastal Cremation Services, 471 Deering Ave, Portland, ME.
