FALMOUTH - Jane T. Jensen, 93, of Merrill Road, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Falmouth, Maine on April 22, 1920 the daughter of John and Emma Johnson Anderson. She attended local schools and graduated from Falmouth High School in the class of 1938, and continued to live in Falmouth her entire life.
On August 2, 1943 she married Arnold L. Jensen and together they raised two children.
Jane worked as a secretary at Portland Rendering Company for ten years before raising her family. She also did all the book work for her husband’s plumbing business. She joined the Falmouth Congregational Church and was Baptized at the age of twelve. A member for eighty one years, she was a devoted church worker and served on many committees, taught Sunday School and enjoyed volunteering many hours at the Preble Street Soup Kitchen. In her spare time she enjoyed summers at their camp on Sebago Lake, taking long walks and riding her bicycle. She had a great passion for animals and was known to rescue any animal in need. Her greatest love was the time she spent surrounded by her family especially her three granddaughters, Jane was an active grandmother who
enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren.
Jane was predeceased by a brother Frank Anderson. She is survived by her husband of nearly seventy years; a daughter Katherine J. and her husband Ned Osolin of Brunswick; a son Larry R. and his wife Pam Jensen of Union, ME; three grandchildren Kristine Enman of Gorham, Kayla Jensen of Union and Kacie Jensen of Augusta; three great grandchildren Elizabeth Enman, Cameron Jensen and Kyle Jensen along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jane’s life will take place at the Falmouth Congregational Church, 267 Falmouth Road, Falmouth, ME on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of Coastal Cremation Services, 471 Deering Ave, Portland, ME.
