    SCARBOROUGH - Jerry M. Sanders, 63 –Healer, Teacher, Singer, Songwriter, Musical Theatre Lyricist and Composer – passed away, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice May 23, 2013.  
     Jerry was known for his unique form of healing that he practiced for over 30 years; all the while continuing to explore and develop new methods in the art of alternative healing.
    His other prolific passions were music and dance.
     In the early 90’s Jerry collaborated with his wife, and artistic partner, Karmo Sanders and friend Steve Underwood on two children’s musicals “Spellbound” and “Radical Radio.”  During that time, Jerry expanded his musical career into being a singer, songwriter, musical theater lyricist and composer. Piano, guitar and voice being his favorite instruments. The team of Sanders & Sanders created the full length Broadway style musical the “Gold Rush Girls” which opened in Anchorage, Alaska in July 2012 to a six week sold out run. It was his crowning achievement.
    Jerry was a free spirit. He had a sweet understanding and an open heart.  He was sought out for his healing, insight and wisdom. An inspiring presence, he touched many lives and will be missed by all.  Jerry is survived by his wife Karmo, daughters Hanna Sanders and Jennywren Walker, five beautiful grandchildren, two wonderful son in laws, and loving siblings Sally Murray, Tom Sanders and Bette Smith.
     A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory can be made to India Street Free Clinic.   Arrangements under the direction of Coastal Cremation Services, 471 Deering Ave, Portland, ME.
