Scarborough – Carlos Augusto DaSilva, Sr.  69, of Portland passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.  He was born in Recife, Brazil on October 18, 1944, a son of Estevam and Eugenia (Guedés Aragão) DaSilva.  

Carlos moved from Brazil to the United States when he was 25.  He worked for several years for C.H. Robinson Trucking before going into business for himself, running local screen printing companies including “Rio T’s” Screen Printing.  Carlos also received an award from the City of Portland for his years of work assisting the Latin community in the Portland area.  Most of all, Carlos was a big family man and loved all the time he spent with them.

Carlos was predeceased by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Marila (Rala) DaSilva, five children, Liana, Carlos Jr., Marcelo, Ricardo and Regina, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren as well as a brother and sister in Brazil.
