Saco - Our dear Michael Shawn Crowley, 49, of Saco, went to be with Jesus on Sept. 18, 2014, after a courageous 19 month battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born in Portland on Aug. 8, 1965, beloved son of Philip and Gayle Crowley, and brother to Lisa and Kevin. He was incredibly blessed with loving wife, Karen and beautiful daughter, Morgan.  Michael was a great man, and a good soul.

Michael was so many things; kind, generous, strong, funny, a compassionate friend and a lover of all animals, a fixer, a builder, a fisherman, a farmer, a gardener, and a poet.
He was a Saco Firefighter, EMT, and the Chef at MECA and Seeds of Peace Camp.  He did it all with skill, integrity, and pride.

Michael showed great Courage and Honor. Fighting fires, fighting cancer, facing fear, and above all, trusting in God.  He showed the greatest bravery, rising and sacrificing, always looking out for the good of others.  He persevered in the face of severe trials; A true hero.

Michael saw the best in everyone and everything.  He focused on the good things in life. Motorcycle riding, bonfire building, daughter tickling, wife joking, kitten cuddling, dog walking, sunrises, long hot showers, gallons of ice cream.  He always had a little joke or a hug, a kind word for everyone.   He lived an inspirational life of caring, appreciation, and Faith.

Michael loved and felt so grateful for his life with his family. His wife Karen was his true soulmate.  He was so very proud of their daughter, Morgan. They will forever be in each-others hearts.

Michael and his brother, Kevin had an unbreakable bond and were there for each other, always.

He treated his friends as he would his own family.  As an uncle, he loved his nieces and nephews as his own children, making a profound impact in each of their lives.

Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend. He loved us and we loved him.
He was an inspiration to us all, he taught us well, and we will try to live a loving, joyous life, to live as he did.

As we spent this last year and a half caring for Michael, it was really Michael who was taking care of all of us, and preparing us for his transition into Heaven.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4pm on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the First Congregational Church of Scarborough, 161 Black Point Rd.  To share memories and condolences with the family, please go to www.coastalcremationservices.com
