WELLS – Frederick C. “Fred” Brown Jr. 82, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 23 at York Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was born June 15th, 1932 in Worcester MA, the son of the late Frederick Brown and Lucille (Horan) Brown.

Fred graduated from Classical High School Class of 1950.  He joined the United States Army Reserves after graduation and rose through the ranks before retiring as a Colonel. In 1957 he married Sheila Marie Paris with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage in June of 2014. Fred spent most of his career in the electrical wholesaling business, retiring in 1992 from George Greene Electric of Worcester, of which he was part-owner.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sheila (Paris) Brown, a daughter-in-law Katherine Henderson, a daughter Kathleen Brown and her husband Michael Wentworth, and six grandchildren Jotham Magocsi, Abraham and Nell Henderson-Brown, Nathan Tower and Marleah and Samuel Wentworth, one brother, Roger and his wife Madeline Mooney along with several nieces and nephews.

Fred loved working in his yard and chatting with his neighbors.  He was a longtime member of the Dutch Elm Golf Course in Arundel and played hundreds of rounds of golf in his later years. A well-known wisecracker and raconteur, he would delight in tormenting his grandchildren by interrogating their friends and significant others with embarrassing and pseudo-inappropriate questions.
