Tim ‘Timmy’ Boivin, 51, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Sunday, October 9 with his family by his side. Tim showed us the true meaning of strength and selflessness throughout his life and more so during his illness and until the moment he passed, a lesson we will all continue to carry forward.

Tim was a thinker, and a doer, always full of fun and spontaneity. Most anyone who met Tim liked him immediately. He had a great sense of humor, and a gift of making people laugh. Upon his discharge from the hospital and choosing hospice at his home, Tim made the decision to be a participant at his celebration of life. For three days, family and friends visited, laughed, and shared memories. Tim also chose to have a gathering at Jimmy the Greeks during this time, his favorite bar in OOB where old and new friends gathered from all over, and family reunited. The family would like to thank Jimmy and his staff for hosting Tim’s celebration of life. If you happen to visit Jimmy’s, you will find Tim’s mug from the mug club turned upside down where he will always be remembered, and be a member in spirit. Remember to ‘cheers’ him!

Tim was born in Manchester, N.H., the son of Paul and Edna Boivin. He went to school in both N.H. and Maine, and graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, ME.  Tim trained to become a plumber at a very young age, by Paul ‘The Big Guy’ his Dad. Big Guy was a tough teacher, but a good one, and was very proud of all of his boys and the work they demonstrated.

Tim went on to become a Master Plumber and Draftsman Designer. Tim owned his own business, Mid-State Plumbing & Heating in China, Maine for many years. For the past seven years, Tim worked for Johnson & Jordan Mechanical Contractor using his draftsman skills. The entire staff at Johnson & Jordan were like a family to Tim and his brother Brian who also worked with Tim, supporting them both through Tim’s illness.

Three of Tim’s passions were riding his Harley Davidson, his love for all genres of music, especially the ‘blues’, and flirting with the ladies.

Tim is predeceased by his father Paul and sister ‘Little Mary’.
Tim is survived by: his Mom Edna, his two sons: Corey and Dustin and their wives April and Chelsea, his five siblings: Lana, Rick, Ruthie, John, and Brian, his grand-children: Collin Grey, Ava Rose, Ana Marie, and Maci Rae, many nieces and nephews: Lana’s children: Jay, Sean, Justin, Micah, Danae, Rick’s children: Brianne and Carrie, Ruthie’s daughter Anna, John’s children: Jacob, Jaron, Jestil, and Matthew, and Brian’s son: Bradley, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be no service or visiting hours as Tim chose to celebrate his life while he was here on earth. Many thanks to family and friends for all of your love and support.
