Frances Robnett-Shepherd, 92, passed from this life at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth, Maine on December 9, 2016. She was born, Frances Casados, in Clayton, New Mexico on May 11, 1924, the eldest of five children of John Napoleon Casados and Teresa Caravajal.

The family later moved to Denver, Colorado where Frances graduated from Denver West High School in 1942. After graduation, she began her lifelong career as a secretary – first for various businesses and later for local school systems. She particularly enjoyed her time as secretary for North Valley Middle School in LaSalle, Colorado where she was loved by the teachers and the students. She enjoyed telling stories about her experiences there.

On August 13, 1945, Frances married Lt. Richard M. Robnett at the Army airfield chapel in Pyote, Texas. They were together for over 42 wonderful years and had three children: R. Michael Robnett, Stephen A. Robnett and M. Teri Robnett. They enjoyed a life of dancing, travel, golf, and being with family and friends. Richard passed away in January of 1988.

Frances was married for the second time on March 16, 1991 to J. Earl Shepherd in Loveland, Colorado and they bought a house together in Greeley, Colorado. She and Earl enjoyed more than 15 years together filled with more dancing, camping trips, fishing, playing slots at local casinos and being with their combined families and friends. Earl passed away in July of 2007.

Following Earl’s death, Frances lived with her daughter, Teri, in Westminster, Colorado for over two years before moving to Portland, Maine to live with her son, Stephen and his wife, Regi.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, all four of her siblings, both of her husbands and her son, Michael.

Frances is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife, Regi of Portland, Maine, her daughter, Teri of Denver, Colorado, three grandchildren, Mason Carter and his wife, Cheerie, of ~Thornton, Colorado, Dylan Robnett and his wife, Stacy, of Dallas, Texas, and Rhiannon Robnett of Portland. She also is survived by two great grandchildren.
