Richard W. Williamson, of Lewiston, passed away May 12, 2017 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough.  He was born July 3, 1933 in Reading, PA.

Richard graduated from Reading High School and then joined the U.S. Navy being deployed on submarines.  His career specialized in electronics as he held several positions in that field, including Comsat in Andover, ME.  For several years he served as an administrator at the Rumford Community Hospital and later as a Selectman in Mexico, ME.  For several years he owned and operated his own television repair business in Mexico.  He was was active in Rotary and in the establishment of the local public television channel in the Rumford/Mexico area.

In earlier years Richard enjoyed fishing and his years in Rotary.  In later years he enjoyed going on bus tours to plays, as well as, trips to Canada.  His main love was camping and he always enjoyed a good camp fire.

Richard is survived by:  his wife of 45 years, Pearle Williamson of Lewiston; sons, Michael of Westbrook, David and his wife Amy of Windham, Paul of Auburn, and Ed and his companion Cindy Coulthard of Biddeford; daughter, Dawn of Virginia; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Merryfield.  

A private family service will be held at a later date.
