He was born on April 7th, 1945 in Portland, as a son of Bernard and Ann (Wilbur) Haskell. Michael grew up on Elmwood Street in Portland and was the only alter boy in his family; he graduated Deering High School in 1963. On April 30, 1966, he married the love of his life, Sandy (MacKenzie) Haskell. Together they raised one beautiful daughter and shared 30 years together before her passing.

Michael was a “horseman”; he was a horse owner, trainer, and was involved in horse-racing. He owned Mike Haskell Stables at Scarborough Downs. This was a family passion that he especially shared with his late brother, Buddy, and with their father. His other passion included spending time with his family at their camp on Sebago Lake. In 2004, Michael married his second wife, Laurel Haskell, and they enjoyed four years together before her passing.

He is predeceased by one daughter, Marilyn Haskell, and oldest brother, Buddy Haskell. He is survived by one daughter Virginia Titzer and her husband John of Fort Branch, Indiana and three granddaughters Jessica, Tabitha, and Tauni; brothers, Frank and wife Loretta, Patrick and wife Jennifer, sister, Deborah and husband Danny Dale; and sister-and-law, Missy. He loved and cherished his nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to Scarborough Downs on Sunday, July 23rd, at 1:30 PM to honor his memory.
