Eileen L. Masterman--83--beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully passed away in her home on August 19, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Eileen was born April 10, 1934 to Chester and Corinne Flavell of Chelmsford, MA. She was a nurse for a number of years and upon her marriage in 1955 to Daniel A. Masterman of Dixfield, Maine, she devoted her life to family. She and Daniel moved to Naples, Italy in 1956 where he served in the Navy. Eileen and Daniel made their permanent home in Scarborough Maine, returning to their New England roots, after retirement from the Service. They enjoyed numerous trips back to Europe, and have many fond memories from their time there.

Eileen had a simple life and found joy in the natural world around her. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and treasured time spent at Camp on Webb Lake in
Weld. There, she watched the weather change as the clouds shifted over the mountains, relished seeing the Bald Eagle, Moose, Loons and watching baby ducks grow throughout the summer.

She had an active mind and completed thousands of crossword puzzles throughout her life. She was a well-informed, proud American citizen and read the paper everyday.
Eileen is survived by Daniel, her devoted, loving husband of 62 years; son, Douglas A.
Masterman and wife, Sandra; daughter, Cynthia L. Masterman; grandchildren Heather
Gulbronson, Heidi Conner, Blaine Conner, Patrick Masterman, and Olivia Conner; great-
grandaughter, Gretchen Gulbronson; and, brother, John Flavell and wife, Pam.  Eileen is predeceased by her parents, sister Evelyn, and adored orange cat, Theo.

The entire family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Southern Maine
who cared for Eileen with compassion as she transitioned to her next life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to Hospice of
Southern Maine. A private graveside service is planned for a later date.
