Jerome T. Olanovich, 82, of Scranton, PA, husband, father, grandfather, philanthropist, businessman and master joke-teller, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017, under the expert care of the South Portland Nursing Home, South Portland, ME.

        He was predeceased by his father and mother, Gabriel and Edna Olanovich of Scranton, PA, his beloved wife and mother of his children, Patricia A. Walsh Olanovich, of Moosic, PA and his twin sons, Michael and Christopher Olanovich, of Scranton, PA.

        The son of a coal miner, he became the epitome of the immigrant family success story, rising to the corporate inner circles of the most distinguished distiller in the world, Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, New York, NY.  He was equally adept at befriending and entertaining company presidents, entry-level employees and everyone in between.  His warm and humorous approach to life was enjoyed by his care givers right to the end.

       He is survived by his sister and her husband, Bernadine and John Connors of Binghamton, NY, his son and his wife, Jerome P. and Judi Olanovich, of Saco, ME, his daughter, Judith Krueger, of Saco, ME, his grandson, Michael Olanovich, of Saco, ME, his granddaughter, Megan Krueger, of Waterville, ME.

        A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on November 4, 2017, at the Good Shepard United Methodist Church, 151 West Gray Rd, Gray, ME.  Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route One, Scarborough, ME, 04074.
