Leo Paul Michaud, 80, of Biddeford, ME and Fort Myers, FL, died peacefully at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Scarborough on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.  He was born in Sanford on April 12, 1937, the son of Alphonse and Marie (Burbank) Michaud.  He was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School.

Leo served in the U.S. Air Force.  After discharge, he worked at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH.  He worked 23 years as a Meat Cutter and a Meat Manager.  He loved working as a DJ on the weekends.  He retired at the age of 50 and enjoyed wintering in Florida.  On July 4, 1959, Leo married Gertrude Goudreau at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.

Leo is survived by:  his wife of 58 years, Gertrude Michaud of Biddeford; daughter, Charlene Pelletier and her husband Yves of Kennebunk; daughter, Linda DeMario and her husband Dean of Saco; son, David Michaud and his wife Sandy of Glen Burnie, MD; three sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

There will be no visiting hours.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Most Holy Trinity Church, 271 Main St., Saco, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.

Leo’s family would like to thank Holly Macrae and the staff at the Maine Veteran’s Home for the wonderful care at the end of his life.
