HENRY F RICHARD
Portland, Maine. Henry (Hank) Richard (son of Alban and Regina Richard of Wilton, Maine), born May 15,1937, passed away at Maine Medical Center after a short battle with cancer on October 31, 2017. Hank grew up in Wilton, Maine. After graduation from Wilton Academy, he joined the US Navy, than went to work in Connecticut and Maine with American Cyanamid. ~Hank retired as a pipe fitter from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed his remaining years at his homes on Eustis Ridge and Moody Beach, Maine. Hank was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Loved by everyone, Hank was a gentle soul that lived a faithful life. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Hank was predeceased by his beloved wife’s Joyce (Smith) Richard, and wife ~Lois (Scott) Ambrose Richard, brother Rolland Richard, Sister Evelyn Dominique, Sister Lillian Grendele, and great granddaughter Leah Marie Joy Richard.~
Hank is survived by his loving partner, Joan Wheeler of Chesterville, Maine; ~sons Thomas and wife Cindy Richard, Timothy Richard, and Todd Richard and partner Cliff O’Connor of Cape Neddick, Maine; step children Dottie and Chip Hamlyn, Rick and Donna Ambrose, Ron and Denise Ambrose, and Linda Sanders; Grandchildren, Shane Richard, Nicole Richard, Lily Bickerstaff-Richard, and Grace Richard; Great grandson Cael Henry Richard; Brother Bob and wife Kathy Richard, and Sister Dorothy Richard; As well as many cherished step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held~on Saturday,,~November 11, 2017 at noon~at First Parish Church,~181 York Street, York, Maine.
