Harry C. Milton passed away on 12/6/2017 at home as he wanted.  He was born in Portland, Maine and graduated from Deering High School.  After spending time in Arizona, he returned home and completed his studies to become a Master Electrician.  He grew up in the Riverton area at a time when we could leave home in the morning and come home when the street lights came on.  He played baseball as a kid, lacrosse in high school and raised his share of hell on the weekends.  He grew up to be a wonderful son, father, uncle, brother, and coach.  In 1981 he helped coach the first Babe Ruth team from Maine to the World Series.  He married his wife Dawn in 1982 and they raised their two daughters in Kennebunk.  Later in life he moved back to Portland and bought the house he was raised in.  He loved his two grandchildren and spent every moment he could participating in their lives.  He attended practices and games, took them driving, went back to school shopping, and encouraged them at every turn.  Knowing his time was short he spent the past few months on his motorcycle thinking nothing of riding 500 miles in a day.  Just this season he put 15,000 miles on his Harley, determined to enjoy every moment and make those moments meaningful.  Harry was predeceased by his father John Milton, his mother Glenys Dyer Milton, and his wife Dawn.  He is survived by his daughters Laurie Milton and her son Jacob; Alisha Milton and her daughter Maddie; his sister Michelle Milton (Susie) and her children; and his brother John and his wife Beth.  He also leaves many cousins.  The Milton family invites friends and family to celebrate and remember on Saturday 12/16 from 12:00 to 3:00 at the Elks Club, 1945 Congress St, Portland, Maine.  Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
