Kathleen DeLong Wigley
Kathleen DeLong Wigley, 69, of Sanford, passed away May 11, 2018 at Maine Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1949 in Fort Fairfield, ME to Donald and Helen (Mills) DeLong.
Kathy graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1967. She then received a nursing degree from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Connecticut, Colorado, and Maine. She married David Wigley Jr. and the couple later divorced.
Kathy enjoyed quilting, knitting, reading, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald C. DeLong. She is survived by: her daughter, Regan Grant and her husband, Todd of Acton, ME; sister, Debra Shorey of Meriden, CT; brother, James DeLong and his wife, Susan of Hamden, CT; grandchildren, Courtney and Adam Grant of Acton, ME; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy’s name to Meals on Wheels,c/o Southern Maine Agency on Aging, 136 U.S. Route One, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1079 Foxes Ridge Rd., Acton, ME 04001.
