Joseph Albert Praster III passed away peacefully in Scarborough on Friday, September 11, 2020 after a period of declining health. He was born on November 9, 1940 to Joseph A. Praster Jr. and Mary Frances (Land) Praster in Jacksonville, Florida

After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he worked in radio repair. Joseph received a hardship discharge from the Air Force after just over one year of service, when his parents died and he was called upon to care for his younger brother and sister. He worked a variety of jobs to support his siblings until they graduated from high school.

He lived life his way, studying and working in a wide variety of fields. He lived in cities from coast to coast and loved to travel and spend time in Europe. He married the love of his life, Martha S. (McDowell) Praster in 1971. They were inseparable until he took his last breath, with Martha at his side.

Joseph is predeceased by his parents, brother Johnny and his sister Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Martha, son and daughter in law, Joseph Albert Praster IV and Loretta Rios-Praster, grandsons Benjamin Paul Praster and Paden Joseph Praster and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
