Edward (Teddy) Francis Ross, age 81, died peacefully at home on January 2, 2022.

Teddy was born on March 7th, 1940, in Portland, Maine to parents James and Alice (Whitney) Ross. He was the 3rd youngest of 11 siblings that grew up on Munjoy Hill. He earned the title of a United States Marine in 1957 and faithfully served his country until 1964. Teddy met the love of his life Evelyn Louise (Pinkham) Ross when he was 14 and they married on September 26th, 1959. The couple had four children together. He was a wonderful family man and loving father.

Teddy was a very social, active man who owned his own plumbing and heating business “Ted Ross Heating” until he retired in 2010. He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family and friends. He held a special interest in anything related to the military, whether it was watching a documentary or reading a book, especially if it was about the Marine Corps. He was very proud and honored to be a Marine.

Teddy’s family and friends will always remember him as a kind person who would do anything to help someone out. We know he will be looking down on us and guiding us through our lives. Birthdays will not be the same without happy birthday being sung by him. He lived a long fulfilling life and will be missed tremendously every day by many.
Teddy is survived by his wife, Evelyn Louise Ross, of Westbrook; his four children, Robert Ross, Katherine Ross, Jeffery Ross, and Christopher Ross; six grandchildren, Sean Ross, Jessica Scott, Ashley Willard, Brent Ross, Corey Ross, and Gunnar Ross; eight great grandchildren, Mackenzie Ross, Antonio Romero, Katherine Ross, Grayson Ross, Avery Ross, Maeve Ross, Cameron Scott, and Louise Scott. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Tebbetts, Connie Dayton and Carol Mikkelsen, and his brother Peter Ross.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Alice (Whitney) Ross; his brothers Robert Ross, Larry Ross, and John Ross; and his sisters Natalie (Ross) Scott, Louise (Ross) Richardson, and Barbara (Ross) Cohee.

A private celebration of life will be held Sunday February 20, 2022
In lieu of flowers, we request a random act of kindness in his memory.  Whether it is a helping hand, encouraging words or a listening ear, all are appreciated and needed in this world.
