On Saturday, August 20th, 2022, Robert Michael Toth, beloved husband of Katherine Timberlake, passed out of this world into the next realm of consciousness at the age of 74 from metastatic liver cancer at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine.
While Bob had many different careers, the focus of Bob’s life was taking care of the people he loved and fighting social injustice. He had a deep appreciation for the arts in general and a passion for the blues in particular, which Bob had been studying for several years on his acoustic guitar. Bob also loved the opportunity photography provided for studying light and shifting perspective. Bob considered Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to be his spiritual home and made pilgrimages there twice a year throughout his adult life to enjoy its unique light, sense of history, and indulge his special love of the ocean.
Bob was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, surrounded by a very large and loving extended family.  He is predeceased by his parents John Toth Jr. and Pauline (Pat) Duch, sister Cynthia Toth, first wife Robin Hostage, children John Toth and Sarah Toth, and grandson Noah Toth.
Bob is survived by son Joshua Toth, his wife Julie, and their daughter Emma; sister Christine Toth, her husband Steve Garabedian, and their sons Henry and Owen; wife Katherine Timberlake, stepson Aaron Hefler and his husband Royce Connor, and stepdaughter Misharra Hefler; as well as many extended family members and loving friends. Bob was a true introvert, but the greatest joy in his life were those he loved, especially his children and grandchildren whom he adored unconditionally and spoke of with great pride.
Over the course of his life, Bob’s canine companions (especially Tippy Sanchez, Jessie Beans, and Luna Tuna) were of the utmost importance to him. Bob was a very dedicated canine dad who had a reputation for spoiling the canine members of his family.
In 2009, Bob met Katherine in a Buddhist meditation group and they quickly became inseparable.  Their years together were filled with laughter, the exploration of ideas, commitment to family, and an abiding love that encouraged each to become their best selves.
Bob’s family would like to first thank the staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their compassion and the exceptional level of care they provided to Bob and his loved ones during his short time there. The family would also like to thank Dr. James Zeitlin, Bob’s longtime primary care physician, for providing loving care and support to Bob and his family.
For those who are inclined, donations in Bob’s name can be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
A private celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the end of September.
Robert Toth was well-loved.
