Betty Jean Cary
Betty Jean (Percival) Cary, 74, of Cumberland, passed away on May 21, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1949 to Frank and Arlene Cook Percival in Portland, ME.
With her father being in the Army, Betty and her family lived many places growing up including Germany. In 1967 Betty graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and the same year married Thomas Cary. Together they had three sons and in the early 1970’s Betty and Tom built their home in Cumberland. They lived there up until very recently.
Betty was a homemaker and spent most of her time taking care of her family. She had many hobbies; sewing and crafting, reading, line dancing and gardening. She was an avid yard-saler and never missed a Saturday sale. She spent a great deal of time with her friends and cherished the time she had with her grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Tom. She is survived by sons; Thomas, John (Michelle), and David (Lynne), as well as her six grandchildren, Courtney, Cayden, Thomas, Nicholas, Devin, and Zachary. Betty also leaves behind a sister, Barbara, as well as many close friends.
