Gloria (Cote) Langway, 78, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at Gosnell House on September 9th after a brief illness.
Born on February 5th, 1945 in Old Town, Maine, Gloria graduated from Greely High School in 1964. After graduation, she worked various jobs, with her most enjoyable being her last role as a bus monitor working with special needs children.
In May of 1966, Gloria married Merrick “Pete” Langway, going on to have two children, Ronald Langway and Margaret Priest.
After retirement, she enjoyed singing in the church and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mary Davis, her husband, Pete, sister, Mary Trask, granddaughter, Haley, and great-grandson, Kane. She is survived by her two children, as well as her sister, Cecile Davis, sister, Theresa (Billy) Hitchcock, and brother, Ronald Davis. Gloria is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Carol Dennison, Dylan Sargent and Marie Spiller, as well as great-grandson, Merrick Dennison.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maine Medical Center and Gosnell House for the compassion shown during her recent stay. Memorial service will be held on October 21st, 2023 at 1:00pm at the West Cumberland United Methodist Church on Blackstrap Rd, Cumberland. Celebration of life will follow in the parish hall.
