Westbrook – Michael Edward Grady, “Mickey,” 71, of Westbrook passed away on January 17, 2015 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Portland on June 21, 1943, the son of Joseph and Mary (Murphy) Grady. He was raised in Portland and graduated from Deering High School, class of 1961.
After high school, he joined the United States Marines Corps where he was stationed in Hawaii. In 1965 he married Joan (Dearborn) of South Portland.
Mickey worked for Ametek, Hannaford and Associated Grocers.
He also spent time as a building contractor and finished his career as district manager for the Portland Press Herald, retiring in 2008.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cars.
Mickey was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Alfred and Richard.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, their sons; Michael Grady, Brian Grady and his wife Melissa, Matthew Grady and his wife Anna and seven grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Pat Labrie, Mary Lou Schwabenhausen and brother Jerry Grady.
A memorial service will be held at the Galilee Baptist Church, 317 Main St, Gorham on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 6pm, with a reception to follow at the Church.
